We didn’t really need an excuse to celebrate salsa, but we couldn’t let National Salsa Month pass by without showing off some of the salsa options we have here at Vallarta Tacos & Burritos.

Pico de Gallo
Pico de gallo is a classic and simple salsa. The combination of fresh tomatoes, onions, chili peppers, cilantro, and lime juice showcases the signature flavors of Mexican cuisine. Because all the ingredients are left raw, pico de gallo has a fresh taste that lightens and balances the other ingredients in your tacos or burrito.
Here’s a fun fact: pico de gallo literally means “rooster’s beak.” But don’t worry, there are no beaks or any other parts of a rooster in your salsa. The name probably refers to the shape of the chili peppers.
Guacamole Salsa
What could be better than combining salsa and guacamole? Our guacamole salsa includes avocado (obviously), lime, cilantro, serrano peppers, onion, and garlic. Blended together and perfectly seasoned, it’s great for topping tacos, dipping chips, or adding a creamy kick to burritos.
Tomatillo Salsa
Also called salsa verde, tomatillo salsa is the tart alternative to the classic salsa roja. Tomatillos look a lot like unrip tomatoes, but they are actually a different fruit. They grow in husks and tend to be smaller with a less acidic flavor. Often, Mexican restaurants will offer tomatillo salsa as their spicier salsa option. At Vallarta Tacos & Burritos, our tomatillo salsa pulls double duty. We have a mild variety if extra spicy isn’t your thing and a hot tomatillo salsa if you want to kick it up a notch.
